Despite spending a chunk of the day riding a bus over the Cascades, Amelia Evans' legs were anything but weary. In fact, they were nearly strong enough to power her to a Gonzaga indoor track record.

For the second time in three weeks, the Gonzaga track team will trek across the Cascades for an indoor meet in Seattle. This time, the Bulldogs will compete in the UW Invitational, which starts Friday on the campus of the University of Washington.

The runners the Gonzaga track team took to the Idaho Collegiate were either inexperienced or working their way back from nagging injuries. That did not, however, keep the Bulldogs from setting a few personal records.

After traveling to Seattle for its first indoor meet of the season, the Gonzaga track team will stay in the Inland Empire this week. The Bulldogs will make the short trek to Moscow, Idaho, to compete in the Idaho Collegiate on Friday.

Heading into the first meet of the indoor track season, Pat Tyson told his runners not to worry about times. Just compete, he said.
