The women's team posted the third-highest team GPA on campus with a 3.42 - well above the USTFCCCA's benchmark of 3.1. Joe Cerne also boasts a 3.42 cumulative GPA and also earned All-American honors at the 2013 NCAA Championships.
The Puget Sound Loggers placed 74 student-athletes on the NWC's annual Scholar-Athlete list. Each student-athlete had at least a 3.5 GPA through the end of the 2012-13 school year.
Junior Joe Cerne posted one personal-best on day one and tied two seasonal-bests on the way to a total of 3,195 points. He is nearly 60 points ahead of his pace from last year's NCAA Decathlon.

Joe Cerne will head back to the national championship meet May 23-24 to compete in the decathlon. He will go in ranked 14th out of 20 invited participants.

The Logger women's team did most of its scoring today to take seventh at the NWC Championships while the men finished fifth after a big day on Friday. Matt Klein was All-NWC in the 5k while Alicia Burns was All-NWC in the 800m.
